An update of Dumpylife’s projects 2025 + Happy Easter from the Dumpylife Crew!
In this blog post we would like to inform you all about Dumpylife’s projects 2025. Although it has been a while we’ve posted a blog, we didn’t sat still with our projects and on our socials. Lets start with the project we are most passionate about…
Our shrimp farm
It’s going great. At the start we were confronted with a planaria infestation in the green hulk tank. Nothing a littlebut of Flubenol can’t handle! We treated all tanks in precaution while we only seen them in the green hulk tank. After that we acquired some new color shrimps from Germany. That ment we had to divide one of the big tanks into small compartments to house them. More of that in another blog.
We added Blue Jelly, Dark green jade, Blue dream OE, Dark red, The plan is to eventually breed orange eyes into all of them. It didn’t take long for most of them to produce eggs. The blue dream group is a group with a few orange eyed males and normal females. their offsprings offspring will produce some baby shrimp with orange eyes. Hopefully with a beautiful, clear blue color. We have the same setup for the green jade shrimp, so we are very excited to see what colors they will produce. The Bloody Mary with orange eyes are breeding happily and it’s starting to become a nice colony.
Our new agapornis: Pim and Wim
We would like you to meet our new addition to the Dumpylife family.
We’ve welcomed 2 agapornis roseicollis. The first day they were still scared and kept distant. But after that day they really well adjust to people. When they came in, it wasn’t clear yet which gender they have. Now we know it’s a male and a female. Also because by now, they are already trying to mate.
Although they can make a lot of noise sometimes, they are good company. Watching them handling life as smooth operators really is enjoyable to watch. For now we plan to tame them more by more. It goes slowly, but you can really see progress day by day.
Our vampire crab babies
We were very thrilled to discover little tiny crabs in the vampire crab paludarium. Looking like itsy bitty spiders in the water. Although we were a little bit disappointed for not seeing it from the start, we would love to see them grow and share this with you all.
Stay tuned! We will keep you updated.
We wish you and all of your loved ones a Happy Easter.
Love,
The Dumpylife Crew
