Our Dumpy frogs; An introduction to our coral-toed tree frogs.
Before I tell and show more about our Dumpy frogs, I would say:
”Get something nice to drink!” 😉

In the paludarium we decided to house 5 frogs.
We bought the frogs in different colors, namely:
- 1x Snowflake
- 1x Blue eyes
- 1x Honey blue eyes
- 2x Blue sandfire
Before we went to pick up the frogs, we let the paludarium (Building a paludarium for vampire crabs) soak for 2 weeks. This way, a nice climate could be created.
After we picked up the frogs, we put them in the paludarium. They really had to get used to it for a few days and didn’t show themselves much, but after that they felt right at home. It was exciting to see how the frogs would use the furnished paludarium.

We started with 3 boxes of crickets and some worms as stock. Young frogs need to be fed every day. This was really the minimum needed to be able to get by for a week.
After a few days they will get used to their new home and will not hide much anymore.

As you can see, they have found their place. They are still very small, but you can almost see them growing.
We haven’t decided on names yet. We haven’t gotten any further than Plons or Kermit. So all creative ideas are very welcome!
We are now getting to know the different characters a bit. For example, ”Blue Eyes” never wants to be fed from the hand and both ”Blue Sandfires” are a bit shy.
More basic information about these frogs can be found on Koraalteenboomkikker.
