Building Paludarium for Dumpy tree Frogs
Because they are tree frogs (Our Coral Tree Frogs) we opted for a higher paludarium. This way they can climb enough, but there are also nice water possibilities. We chose:
Exo Terra Natural Terrarium Large 90x45x90 cm.
The original plan was to form the back with black foam, but when the terrarium was delivered we really liked the background. We then decided to work from there.
After we had attached the driftwood branches and surfaces with both aqua scaping foam and aqua silicone sealant, we quickly sprinkled some coconut fiber over the aquafoam. This way the foam layer was no longer visible. We also hid the hoses for the pump in this way.

After this the box had to dry properly. This took at least a week.

Now we could start filling the bottom. After we had cleaned the tank thoroughly once more, we made savings for the water pump by means of filter mats to be able to easily reach it afterwards. In addition, it is an easy way to create heights.

After we did a quick test with water and were sure that everything worked, we filled the tank with hydro grains, substratum, Dragon Stones and some layered rocks.
Between the hydro grains and the substratum we placed hydrofleece, so that the substratum cannot mix with the water.

Then finally the moment has arrived to fill it with water, plants and moss. We simply got the moss from a florist. You can simply ask them and they will bring it from the fair. You can even do this online. That way you have a whole box of moss for little money.
When filling it with water, the pump had trouble pulling the water up a meter, so we helped a bit by sucking the water with a coupling hose. This is now working well.

We have chosen a mist and rain system for the humidity. To regulate we have 2 fans in the tank and a control system.

After the tank had been soaking for a day, we put out springtails and woodlice. These are very useful against fungi and other parasites. Eventually, the frogs will eat these too, so refilling them every now and then is recommended.
